Ministry of Energy: Situation at “M-25” Field Stable and Fully Controlled by Specialists

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan has denied reports circulating on social media about a gas leak in the Boysun district. According to the ministry, the videos being shared are being misinterpreted by users.

“In fact, this concerns a geological process recorded a week ago at well No. 202 of the ‘M-25’ field. It is a temporary extinction of a previously ignited flare,” the Ministry of Energy stated.

According to specialists, the phenomenon is caused by natural processes underground, and the flare was promptly re-ignited.

The ministry emphasized that “the situation at the ‘M-25’ field remains stable, and all technological processes are fully controlled by the relevant specialists.”

Previously, the ministry explained that the gas was ignited deliberately to prevent the release of harmful substances into the atmosphere. Such a practice is a standard measure aimed at reducing environmental risks and complies with international industrial safety requirements.
