Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan said that 1,387 megawatts of capacity will be put into operation in Uzbekistan in 2021, of which:
- Four thermal power plants with a total capacity of 940 MW in Tashkent and Bukhara regions.
- Two solar power plants with a capacity of 100 MW each in Samarkand and Navoi regions
- Three hydroelectric power plants - "Kamolot", part of the Chirchik-Bozsuu cascade of hydroelectric power plants, as well as a cascade of Zarchob small hydroelectric power plants on the Tupolang River in Surkhandarya region
In 2020, projects were launched to build 6 power plants based on PPP with a total capacity of 2,700 megawatts for a total of US$2 billion.
