Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Water leakage from the Sardoba dam in Syrdarya region has been stopped, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

As previously reported, as a result of the breakthrough of the dam, water flooded the village of Kurgantepa in Sardoba district.

The government commission is taking a number of measures to eliminate the effects of the flood and create the necessary conditions for the evacuated population.

The Ministry of Emergencies said that the situation is under full control.

The hotline service has been switched to enhanced mode due to events in Sardoba district of Syrdarya region. A call center 1250 operates under the Ministry of Emergencies.
