Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan Launches Project on Digitalization and Optimization of Business Processes with World Bank

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan, in partnership with the World Bank, is implementing a project to optimize and digitalize business processes, the ministry’s press service reported.

The initiative, titled “Assessment of Opportunities for Optimization, Reengineering, and Automation of Business Processes of the Ministry of Economy and Finance,” includes systematic meetings and working sessions with all relevant economic departments within the ministry.

The goal of the project is a comprehensive analysis of existing business processes, assessment of their functional load, and review of the legal framework and practical implementation.

Special attention is given to identifying redundant administrative layers, duplicate functions, and inefficient use of time. Based on collected data, concrete recommendations are being developed to simplify, optimize, and digitalize processes.

The project aims to improve public administration efficiency, accelerate decision-making, and reduce the influence of the human factor.

Within the framework of the initiative, experts from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) are conducting a detailed analysis of several structural units of the ministry, including departments responsible for economic growth analysis and forecasting, coordination of monetary, fiscal, and foreign economic policy, urbanization, housing and mortgage programs, as well as land reform and the development of master plans for territories.

The project enables the adoption of modern management approaches, the revision of ministry business processes according to international standards, and ensures systematic digital transformation. Ultimately, the initiative is aimed at increasing transparency, efficiency, and the quality of the ministry’s work in the interests of the state and businesses.
