Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan has increased the minimum wholesale and retail prices for alcoholic beverages from 1 October 2020.
The new prices were approved by a joint resolution of the Ministry of Finance and the State Tax Committee from 22 September 2020.
According to the resolution, the minimum wholesale selling price for wine for producers is now 9.4 thousand soums per liter (+ 9.3%), and the minimum retail price is 11.2 thousand soums (+ 9.8%).
The minimum wholesale selling price for vodka and other alcoholic beverages was 24 thousand soums per liter (+ 9.1%), and the retail price was 28.5 thousand soums (+ 9.6%).
The minimum wholesale selling price for cognac rose to 33 thousand soums per liter (+ 6.45%), and retail - up to 39 thousand soums (+ 6.55%).
According to the legislation, in Uzbekistan, it is prohibited to sell alcoholic beverages below the established minimum prices. The sale of alcoholic beverages at prices below the established ones entails penalties. In this case, the perpetrators will be held accountable.
