Military personnel, school teachers and medical staff will not be involved in the cotton harvest

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A press conference was held at the Agency for Information and Mass Communications, where information was provided on the organization of the cotton harvest this year.

During a press conference, Deputy Minister of Employment and Labor Relations, Bakhodir Umrzakov, said that this year, military personnel, school teachers and medical staff will not be involved in the cotton harvest.

It was noted that not a single hired worker will be able to enter the cotton field without concluding an agreement. Labor laws and International Labor Organization recommendations will be strictly enforced during the cotton season this year, and forced labor and child labor are prohibited.

As Umrzakov said earlier, this year 1,000 soums will be paid for 1 kg of raw cotton harvested by hand during the first harvest, and 1,400 soums during the second harvest.
