MFA: Non-biometric passports of Uzbek citizens are invalid abroad
The ministry said that in line with the presidential decree “On additional measures on improving passport system in Uzbekistan” on 5 January, passports of the citizens of Uzbekistan of non-biometric sample was valid till 31 December 2015 and foreign countries were informed about it.
The Uzbek ministry said that the citizens of Uzbekistan with non-biometric passports, who are permanent registration in Uzbekistan and temporarily residing in foreign countries, must apply to the diplomatic mission or consular office of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the host country and receive a certificate of return to Uzbekistan.
Citizens of Uzbekistan with non-biometric passports, who are permanently living abroad and registered at the consular office, should apply to diplomatic mission or consular office in the host country to exchange their passports to biometric ones.
