Members of the International Committee Assessed Uzbekistan’s Readiness for IOI–2026
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The 38th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) will be held in Tashkent from 9 to 16 August 2026.
As part of the preparations for the event, members of the International Committee are visiting the capital of Uzbekistan to evaluate the country’s readiness to host the competition.
Today, committee representatives inspected the main venues for the Olympiad: the Central Asian Expo Uzbekistan International Exhibition Center, twelve hotels in the Yangi O‘zbekiston district designated for accommodating participants, and the Congress Hall.
During the visit, discussions focused on the technical infrastructure and organizational arrangements for the event.
The committee members also visited the Ministry of Digital Technologies, where they reviewed Uzbekistan’s report on preparations for IOI–2026. The meeting highlighted the country’s achievements in information technology and the opportunities created for foreign IT companies operating in Uzbekistan.
The inspection of venues and discussion of organizational aspects are an important stage in preparing for one of the largest international informatics Olympiads, which annually attracts hundreds of talented school and university students from around the world.
