Measures are taken to further develop the system of medical and pharmaceutical education and science

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution on measures to further develop the system of medical and pharmaceutical education and science.

The resolution determines the most important directions for the further development of the system of medical and pharmaceutical education and science, the press service of the Ministry of Justice said.

According to the resolution, from the 2019/2020 academic year, a system of continuing professional education based on a credit-modular system of education will be introduced for medical and pharmaceutical personnel.

Training of doctors of narrow specialties in popular areas will take place at the courses of target primary specialization with a study period of at least one year.

Until 1 December 2019, a special portal “Continuing Professional Education” will be created on the official website of the Ministry of Health.

This portal will provide the ability to monitor and maintain personal records of the training of each medical and pharmaceutical worker in refresher and advanced training courses.

A multidisciplinary clinic is being created on the basis of the first, second and third clinics of the Tashkent Medical Academy.

Tashkent Medical Academy, as well as at the Tashkent Institute of Advanced Medical Studies and medical higher educational institutions, training and simulation centers.

Starting from the 2019/2020 academic year, doctors, who have worked for at least three years in public institutions of primary health care in remote and hard-to-reach regions of the republic, the list of which is approved by the Minister of Health, are given additional points in the amount of 30 percent of the total scores received during admission to clinical traineeship.

Starting from 2020, the Ibn Sino International Medical Olympiad on clinical disciplines will be held among students of medical and pharmaceutical higher educational institutions and students of medical colleges. It is also planned to hold Ibn Sino international scientific competitions among young scientists.
