Measures adopted to implement project “Improving pre-school and general secondary education”

On 28 June 2014, Board of Directors of Global Partnership for Education allocated technical assistance for US$49.9 million to implementation of the project “Improving pre-school and general secondary education”.

Uzbekistan will contribute US$4.2 million as coverage of expenses related to delivery of goods from Tashkent to educational institutions, covered within the project.

Uzbekistan will provide another US$16.7 million due to providing preferences for goods, works and services, purchased within the project, and preferences on payment of tax and other payments.

The project will be implemented in 2014-2018. Ministry of Public Education is an executive body, responsible for implementation of the project.
