Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution “On measures to implement the investment project" Construction of a 500 MW wind farm in Navoi region”.

The document approved an investment agreement on the construction and operation of a 500 MW wind farm in Navoi region.

An agreement on the implementation of this project was signed with Masdar (Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, UAE) in January 2020.

In accordance with the agreement, the volume of foreign direct investment in this project will amount to US$600 million.

Masdar has set up a foreign enterprise Shamol Zarafshan Energy in Uzbekistan to implement the project.

The National Electric Grids of Uzbekistan company will purchase electricity.

It should be noted that Masdar will also build a 100 MW solar power plant in Navoi region.
