Legislative Chamber considers several draft laws

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan held a session on 25 February to consider several draft laws, the press service of the lower house of parliament said.

MPs considered a draft law “On introduction of changes and amendments to regulation on qualification boards of judges”.

The draft law was developed in line with the presidential decree “On organizational measures on further improving activities of courts from 30 November 2012. The document envisages measures on improving system of organizational-legal mechanisms of selection and training of candidates to post of judges, further ensuring independence of courts and improving activities of qualification board of the courts.

After discussion, the MPs passed the law, which will be directed to Senate of Oliy Majlis for approval.

MPs also discussed a draft law “On introduction of changes to some legislative acts of Uzbekistan”. The draft law was developed in connection with reorganization of the Uzbek Agency for communication information to the State committee on communication, information and telecommunication technologies. The draft law introduces changes to several laws, including laws “On communication”, “On radio frequency spectrum”, Code of administrative responsibility, and others.

The draft law was passed and the corresponding committee was entrusted to prepare the document to next reading.

Legislative Chamber also discussed other issues of its jurisdiction.
