Laziz Kudratov Chairs Meeting of the Council on Tariff and Non-Tariff Regulation of Foreign Trade

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 28 November, a regular meeting of the Council on Tariff and Non-Tariff Regulation of Foreign Trade was held under the chairmanship of the Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Chairman of the Council, Laziz Kudratov.

The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss proposals aimed at ensuring price stability for essential consumer goods, supplying national industries with quality raw materials, and increasing the competitiveness of domestic products on the internal market.

The meeting was attended by representatives of relevant ministries and agencies, as well as enterprises and organizations operating in the food, agriculture, textile, leather and footwear, construction, and metallurgical industries.

The discussion covered issues related to extending the preferential zero customs duty rate on key categories of food and consumer goods; reviewing the duration of privileges for raw materials, components and accessories used in the leather-footwear and fur industries; optimizing import duty rates on equipment and raw materials for agricultural and textile production; and introducing amendments to export duty rates for chemical products and raw materials used by the textile industry.

All proposals were thoroughly examined with the involvement of representatives from the respective sectors and enterprises.

Following the meeting, members of the Council adopted decisions on the necessary measures for implementing the reviewed initiatives.
