Law on preventing iodine deficit in Uzbekistan to be amended
The draft law was developed in line with the state programme “The Year of Healthy Generation” and submitted to the Legislative Chamber by the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan in December 2014. The Committee for labour and social issues is responsible for the draft law.
The document is aimed at protecting health of population, further strengthening relations in production, sales and consumption of iodized salt to upbringing healthy and harmonically developed generation.
The draft law introduces changes to article 11 and 15 of the law “On preventing diseases related to iodine deficit.
These changes are directed at creating efficient legal and organizational bases for importing, production, sales and consumption of only iodized salt.
The draft law was considered by Committee for labour and social issues, factions of the parties and MPs Group of Ecologic Movement and will be considered at the session of the Legislative Chamber in the first reading.
