Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A resolution of the President “On additional measures to ensure food security, rational use of available resources and state support for agriculture during the coronavirus pandemic” was adopted.
The resolution introduced a procedure for providing the population on preferential terms land withdrawn from circulation and lands that have groundwater reserves in order to put them into circulation and produce agricultural products.
According to this, the khokimiyats of the districts:
- Lease land that has been put into circulation, primarily for families in need of social protection and low-income families with knowledge and skills in the agricultural sector for dekhan farming with an area of up to 1 hectare, as an exception, for a period of up to 10 years;
- on an experimental basis, they realize to business entities the right to lease up to 5 hectares of land for a period of up to 10 years on the basis of an electronic auction with the condition of advance payment of all expenses.
Potato, vegetables, melons, legumes and oilseeds will be planted on priority land, and orchards and vineyards will be built.
Entrepreneurs who have sowed the established types of crops, created jobs, timely reimbursed rental costs during the period of land use, are given the priority right to extend the period of land use.
On the land areas provided for rent under this resolution, it is allowed to place field mills from light structures and irrigation structures, the construction of other infrastructure facilities, including residential buildings, buildings and structures, is strictly prohibited.
Also, according to the decree, each family participating in agricultural cooperatives, in need of social protection and belonging to the category of low-income families, will receive additional support from the Public Works Fund in the amount of 500 thousand soums during the poultry rearing period (40 days).
