Kuwaiti Company Plans Production of Injectable and Oncology Drugs in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 13 January 2026, Abdulla Azizov, Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry, held a meeting with representatives of the Kuwaiti company Burgan International.

Founded in 1993, Burgan International is a global contracting and manufacturing organization operating in the oil, energy, and infrastructure sectors, with total assets of US$8 billion.

During the meeting, the company proposed establishing a large-scale manufacturing facility within the Tashkent Pharma Park pharmaceutical cluster to produce injectable and oncology drugs. The planned stages of the project’s implementation were presented.

The agency director briefed the visitors on Uzbekistan’s current legislation, tax incentives, and the opportunities available within Tashkent Pharma Park.

It was noted that the project would enable the company to access markets across the CIS and holds strategic importance for Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical sector.

Following the meeting, both parties expressed their readiness to develop cooperation. The agency confirmed comprehensive support for the project and agreed to continue negotiations.
