Knauf holds professional skill competition in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 4 May 2019, the Tashkent Regional College of Architecture and Civil Engineering hosted the 6th regional competition of professional skills in dry construction based on KNAUF complete systems.

The program of the 6th annual regional competition of professional skills in dry construction based on KNAUF complete systems among students of architectural and construction colleges this year has undergone significant changes and has been brought into line with the requirements of the WorldSkills international championship.

The international movement WorldSkills International is working to support high professional standards in working professions, and participants in the WorldSkills Championship are selected at national competitions of 80 participating countries. The world stage is held every two years and is the largest competition for young professionals in working professions. At the last championship in 2017, China, Korea and Switzerland won the most medals.

“KNAUF is constantly in search of ways to improve the training of specialists. Now we felt that it was time for students of the colleges of the construction directions of Uzbekistan to start preparing for the international championships in professional skills. Last year, the team of the Jondor Construction and National Art College participated as a guest in the Russian stage of WorldSkills and realized how much it still has to learn. To help our children reach the international level, KNAUF company radically revised the structure of the regional competition, bringing it closer to the WorldSkills international championship in terms of complexity,” Sanjar Atayev, head of the KNAUF Information and Consulting Center, said.

The team of the Bukhara vocational college of irrigation, land reclamation and architecture became the best this year, the second place was taken by the guys from the Margilan construction vocational college, and the students of the Jondor vocational college of construction and national craft won the third place.

The 6th regional competition of professional skills was organized by the KNAUF group of companies in Uzbekistan and the Vocational Education Center of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education with the support of the Ministry of Construction of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
