KDHC and Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Agriculture Discuss Biomass Cogeneration Projects

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held in Tashkent between representatives of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Agriculture and a delegation from the Korea District Heating Corporation (KDHC) to discuss bilateral cooperation and the implementation of prospective renewable energy projects.

During the discussions, particular attention was given to the efficient use of agricultural resources, the introduction of energy-efficient technologies, and the development of projects based on renewable energy sources.

Plans were considered for the preparation of a full feasibility study for the construction of a cogeneration power plant designed to produce both electricity and heat from biomass, including cotton stalks.

Preliminary feasibility projects were also discussed for creating autonomous heating systems for small settlements not connected to centralized heating networks, including schools, hospitals, and other social facilities.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to develop concrete proposals, expand areas of cooperation, and continue systematic work aimed at achieving practical results in renewable energy and energy efficiency.
