Kamilla Rakhimova Officially Joins the Uzbekistan National Tennis Team

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Tennis player Kamilla Rakhimova, currently ranked 109th in the WTA standings, has officially decided to compete in international tournaments under the flag of Uzbekistan, the Uzbekistan Tennis Federation announced.

The Federation emphasized that Rakhimova’s joining will be an important step for the development of tennis in the country and for strengthening Uzbekistan’s position on the international stage. The athlete will represent the republic in WTA and ITF tournaments, Grand Slam events, team championships, and major international competitions.

The General Secretary of the Uzbekistan Tennis Federation, Sardor Kamilov, described Rakhimova’s move as a “historic event” for Uzbek tennis.

“We are delighted to welcome Kamilla to the national team. We are confident that new successes and impressive performances under the flag of Uzbekistan lie ahead,” he said.

The Uzbekistan Tennis Federation stressed that it will continue to strengthen the athlete development system and expand the national team by including promising world-class players.
