Judoka Shakhzodbek Sobirov wins gold medal in Paris

Member of Uzbekistan national judo team Shakhzodbek Sobirov won a gold medal of the Grand Slam tournament in Paris, France.
Shakhzodbek Sobirov won all his five bouts against opponents from the Czech Republic, Hungary and the Netherlands. In semifinals, he defeated Mongolia’s Otgonbaatar Uungabaatar.
Sobirov beat Russia’s Sergei Ryabov in the final and received 500 points for the Olympic Games qualifications.
Uzbekisan took the fifth place among 84 nations in general medal classification with one gold and one bronze. Sharafiddin Lutfullaev won the bronze medal of the tournament.
