Judge of Pastdargom District Court Arrested for Accepting US$300 Bribe in Samarkand Region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In Samarkand Region, the State Security Service, together with the Prosecutor’s Office and the High Council of Judges, detained a judge of the Pastdargom District Civil Court on charges of accepting a bribe of US$300.
According to the investigation, in 2022, the district court issued a ruling to collect child support from a citizen born in 1983 for a child born in 1989, until the child reached adulthood. Subsequently, the respondent filed a motion to review the decision based on newly discovered circumstances.
The judge, upon reviewing the request, annulled the 2022 ruling on 27 February 2026 and scheduled a new hearing for 11 March 2026, allegedly demanding $300 to issue a favorable decision for the applicant.
A criminal case has been initiated against the judge under Article 210, Part 2, Clause “v” of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Investigative actions are ongoing.
