Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - As part of the visit of the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Japan at the highest level on 16 December, the Japan-Uzbekistan Business Forum was held at the New Otani Hotel in Tokyo, with the participation of representatives of ministries and departments, business circles of the two countries.

In order to study new areas of cooperation with Japanese companies, deepen mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation within the framework of the Japanese-Uzbek business forum, sectional meetings were held, including on the development of industrial cooperation on the topic “Prospects for bilateral relations in the food, textile and silk industries, production of leather clothes and leather goods”.

Presentations of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Association "Uztekstilprom", the company "Masui" are presented to the attention of Japanese business circles. The forum was attended by a number of textile companies and organizers of hop-textile clusters, such as Textile Technologies Group, Shaxrisabz Textile, Art Soft Textile, Art Textile. Following the results of the event, the following agreements were reached:

- An agreement was signed with Brothers Industry and the Uztekstilprom Association on the creation of an Uzbek-Japanese multifunctional training, logistics and service center in the Republic of Uzbekistan for a total amount of US$0.5 million.

 “Brothers Industry” is a Japanese brand, a manufacturer of office equipment and sewing machines. Brother was founded in 1908 as a sewing machine repair shop. Today it is a multinational corporation with sales offices located around the world and a staff of 23,000 people.

- An export agreement was signed with the Japanese trading company Masui Co Ltd and Art Soft Textile LLC for the supply of cotton yarn and terry products for a total amount of US$1.0 million;

- An agreement was reached with the Japanese company Kuraray and Art Soft Tex LLC on the production of new types of terry products in Uzbekistan, with subsequent export of products to the markets of Japan, the USA and the European Union.

In addition, negotiations were held with the management of Murata Machinery, during which issues of supply and production of textile equipment of the Japanese company in Uzbekistan were discussed. It should be noted that during the stay of Uzbek textile companies in Japan by Murata Machinery Ltd. weekly practical and orientation seminars for business leaders were organized. During the seminar, representatives of enterprises will be able to visit the production facilities of Murata Machinery, hold bilateral meetings with Japanese textile companies.
