Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 20 March 2021, from a studio in Pskent district of Tashkent region, a meeting chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov was held in the format of a video conference on monitoring the work on the execution of orders given by the Head of State during his visits to the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Khorezm, Bukhara and Tashkent regions, to study the implementation of investment programs and activities to provide comprehensive support to entrepreneurs and exporters.
The meeting was attended by the heads of ministries, departments, industry associations, commercial banks and local authorities in the above regions.
The reports of the heads of local authorities and heads of ministries and departments assigned to the territories on the implementation of investment programs in the context of districts and makhallas were critically examined. Responsible managers were instructed to take measures to eliminate the existing shortcomings, ensure the timely commissioning of approved projects, as well as develop new promising investment projects characterized by a high economic effect.
Progress in the implementation of projects in a number of sectors, such as agriculture, textiles and the information and communication technology sector, was reviewed separately. In this context, the importance of the wide involvement of young people in industrial and entrepreneurial activities through the implementation of approved target programs and initiatives was noted.
Also, the attention of the meeting participants was drawn to the unsatisfactory level of efficiency in providing practical support to exporters. It was pointed out that it is necessary to remove unnecessary bureaucratic barriers and intensify direct work with entrepreneurs, meaning visits to enterprises, studying their activities, identifying existing problems and solving them promptly.
The implemented measures to improve the efficiency of management of free economic zones (FEZ) in the above regions, as well as to use their economic potential, have been studied. Particular attention was paid to the ongoing work to provide the participants of the FEZ with the necessary infrastructure. It was instructed to develop a mechanism for the accelerated resolution of issues of a similar nature with the introduction of proposals for amending legislation regarding the improvement and increasing the investment attractiveness of the FEZ.
As a result of the meeting, the personal responsibility of the heads of the relevant ministries and departments for the high-quality and timely execution of the assigned tasks was emphasized.
