Issues of improving the teaching of English in schools of Uzbekistan discussed at Public Education Ministry

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Public Education of Uzbekistan held a meeting with members of the new national team to support reforms in teaching English in the public education system.

A national team to support reforms in teaching English in the public education system was created by the Ministry of Public Education in partnership with the British Council in Uzbekistan.

The main goal of the team is to prepare recommendations for improving the teaching of English in schools and the system for training English teachers.

Wendy Arnold, a British consultant in the field of English language teaching, assists the national team in reforming the English language curriculum.

During the meeting with the Minister of Public Education of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov, the parties discussed the first results of the work of the national team and their preliminary recommendations for further improving the teaching of English in schools of Uzbekistan.

It was noted that while teaching children English in schools, they should receive knowledge that will help them in communicating with foreigners and find a decent job.

During the meeting, a plan was outlined for the further work of the national team to support reforms in teaching English in the system of public education.
