Issues of development of Uzbek-Malaysian cooperation in the transport sector discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 2 September 2020, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kuala Lumpur Ravshan Usmanov held talks with the Minister of Transport of Malaysia, Wee Ka Siong.

During the conversation, the sides discussed issues of further development of mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of air and rail transport, as well as training in this direction.

The Malaysian side was provided with detailed information on the large-scale reforms being carried out in the republic aimed at further developing transport communications, ensuring a high level of transport safety, improving the management system in this area, training qualified industry specialists.

Within the framework of the meeting, the issues of possible attraction of the Malaysian airline "MASkargo" to use the services of the airports of Tashkent and Navoi during the implementation of cargo flights to European countries, as well as the organization of joint courses between the Malaysia Aviation Academy and "Training Center" at "Uzbekistan Airways" to improve the qualifications of pilots, air traffic controllers and other personnel.

Taking into account the potential of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Malaysian side also noted the importance of developing cooperation in the field of railway transport, including through the establishment of long-term partnerships with the SMH Rail company to establish joint production and repair of rail equipment, and create centers for training specialists in this area.
