Issues of deepening economic ties between Uzbekistan and Latvia discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 16 January 2020, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Kadambay Sultanov in Riga met with the President of the Confederation of Employers of Latvia Vitalis Gavrilovs.

The Confederation is the largest public organization promoting the interests of Latvian employers. It was founded in 1993 and unites 112 industry enterprises, 64 industry and regional associations of entrepreneurs and federations.

At the talks, issues of supporting efforts to increase economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Latvia, as well as the institutionalization of relations between the business circles of the two countries were discussed.

Vitaliys Gavrilovs noted the prospect of joint efforts to further expand the export of Uzbek products to Latvia, as well as other Baltic countries and the European Union. The mutual benefit from cooperation in the field of transport and logistics was emphasized.

The head of the confederation expressed confidence that the early launch of the Uzbek-Latvian Council of Business Cooperation will further enhance the economic ties between the two countries.
