Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 16 March 2021, within the framework of the visit of a government delegation to the Russian Federation in Moscow, the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov met with the Chairman of the State Development Corporation VEB. RF of the Russian Federation Igor Shuvalov, during which topical issues of current cooperation and plans to expand partnership in the near future were discussed.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and further steps to accelerate the implementation of previously agreed joint projects.
They also discussed issues of expanding investment cooperation through the study of new promising projects of industrial cooperation in Uzbekistan in the fields of energy, agriculture and water management, mining and pharmaceuticals.
The head of the Corporation expressed readiness to take part in the elaboration of financing issues for new industrial cooperation projects developed within the framework of the "Project Office" created by the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to join efforts to promote Uzbek-Russian economic cooperation and continue to work together to develop new proposals in the most promising industries, where there is significant potential to attract Russian investment and advanced technologies.
