Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Israeli diplomat Zehavit Ben-Hillel has been appointed Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Dunyo news agency reported.
As Israeli media reported on 19 July, citing an official statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the appointments of ambassadors to Uzbekistan, Finland and Eritrea, permanent representatives to UN agencies in New York (simultaneously from 2021, Ambassador to the United States) and Geneva were approved.
Zehavit Ben-Hillel, who worked before her appointment in Uzbekistan as the head of the public relations department of the Israeli Foreign Ministry, should replace Eduard Shapira, who presented his credentials to the President of Uzbekistan on 28 February 2018.
Zehavit Ben-Hillel has held various diplomatic positions at the Foreign Ministry and abroad. She is fluent in English, Spanish and German.
