Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 4 May 2020, a telephone conversation took place between the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, Ismatulla Irgashev, and the Special Envoy of the European Union for Afghanistan, Roland Kobia.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, a thorough exchange of views took place on the current situation in Afghanistan, the efforts of the international community to speedily launch peaceful intra-Afghan negotiations, as well as assisting in the fight against the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

Taking into account the importance of a peaceful resolution of the Afghan problem, the parties noted the need to consolidate the efforts of the countries of the region in this direction.
