A landslide buried a village Friday, 2 May 2014, in northeastern Afghanistan, leaving at least 350 people dead and hundreds missing. The landslide occurred due to heavy rains.
According to the officials of the Badakhshan province, more than 2,000 people were missing after a hill collapsed on the village of Hobo Barik after days of heavy rain.
The landslide buried some 300 homes in the area — about a third of all houses there. The UN said that over 4,000 people were evacuated from the region.
