Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An International Investment Forum will be held in Jizzakh on 29-30 August 2018, which is directed at demonstrating investment potential of Jizzakh region.
The event was organized by the State Committee of Uzbekistan for Investments jointly with the Khokimiyat of Jizzakh region, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassies of the Republic of Uzbekistan abroad and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan.
Over 300 people from 28 countries are participating in Jizzakh Investment Forum, including from Belarus, Great Britain, Germany, Greece, UAE, Israel, India, Spain, Latvia, China, Kazakhstan, Turkey, USA, Singapore, South Korea, Japan, etc. Ambassadors of Italy, India, China, Kuwait and Turkey are also among the participants of the forums.
Representatives of the World Bank, TICA (Turkey), Commerzbank AG, Shell Global Solutions International BV, Wehrhahn GmbH, McDermott International, Huasin Cement Co, Jamil Azizi General Trading LLC, Geeta Pharma, Bay Tea Group, Indorama Corporation, Alliance Capital K/S , Elvan Sağlık Turizmi Ltd.Şti, LG international corpоration are participating in the forum.
The participants will familiarize themselves with social-economic development of Jizzakh region, its potential and created conditions for foreign investors.
Currently, there are two free economic zones in Jizzakh region – Jizzakh free economic zone and Zomin Farm free industrial zone.
The enterprises of the region produce various agriculture products, construction materials, textile goods, leather and footwear products, automobile components, pharmaceutical goods, telecom equipment, etc.
Chinese company completed construction of the first stage of glass plant in Jizzakh free economic zone with the cost of US$110 million. About US$28.9 million was used within the first stage. The full introduction of the plant will be held in 2019. Jizzakh Glass Plant will become the largest producer and supplier of glass sheets in Central Asia.
Agriculture is one of key sectors of the region as it account 35% of gross regional product.
During two days, the participants of the forum will receive information on potential of Jizzakh region and perspective investment projects, offered for implementation in the region.
The forum participants will take part in B2G and B2B meetings to discuss potential areas of cooperation and creation of joint enterprises.
Cultural and historic, recreation and tourism potential of Jizzakh region will be demonstrated to forum participants. The participants will visit touristic sights of the region.
Within the forum, it is planned to sign bilateral agreements on mutual cooperation on investment projects, which will be realized in Jizzakh region in such areas as construction materials, ready leather and footwear products, production of grape and processing fruits and vegetables, etc.
