Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- International Ecological Marathon under the motto “We are responsible for the future” will be held.

The event will be held from 17 to 22 October in anticipation of the International Conference on the Aral Sea in six cities of Uzbekistan - Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Urgench, Nukus and Muynak.

The main goal of the marathon is to attract public attention to the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to declare the Aral Sea region as a zone of environmental innovation and technology, as well as to the global Aral Sea problem.

The program of the weekly marathon includes races of 5 kilometers at each stage, concert programs, rallies and meetings in educational institutions.

The final of the marathon will take place in Muynak on 22 October. The event is planned to be held every year.
