According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Rusiy will head a delegation of Belarus, Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan Elyor Ganiev – the delegation of Uzbekistan.
The delegation of Belarus will include representatives of ministries of foreign affairs, industry, agriculture and food, healthcare, Belneftehim, Bellegprom, Belgospisheprom, Beleksimgarant, SvetlogorskHimvolokno and others.
At the session, the sides will discuss dynamics and perspectives of the Uzbek-Belarusian cooperation, including agriculture, industry, education, healthcare, science and technologies. The delegations will consider implementation of projects on production cooperation and development agreement-legal base.
Within the visit, the delegation of Belarus will meet the Uzbek Foreign Affairs Ministry, representatives of state and business bodies.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Belarus made up US$102.8 million, which fell by 28.3% compared to 2013. Exports of Belarus made up US$67 million (-27.3%) and import – US$3.8 million (+6.3%).
Belarus mainly supplies components and spare parts for cars and tractors, medicaments, equipment for compressed and liquefied gas, sugar, tractors, tiles, etc. Belarus imports from Uzbekistan cotton, cotton-fibre, automobiles and grape.
