Innovative technopark “Yashnabad” to be created in Tashkent

According to the decree, the technopark will specialize in carrying out scientific research and development, pilot-industrial tests and transfer to the development of samples of innovative products in the areas of chemical technologies, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and medical biotechnology, plant protection products, material science, metal processing technologies, seismic resistance, building materials, food Industry, energy saving, production of alternative and renewable energy sources, electronic measuring instruments, robotics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering.

The document notes that the innovative technopark will operate for 30 years with the possibility of further extension. The status of residents of the Yashnabad Technopark is assigned for a period of up to 10 years on a competitive basis. At the same time, residents of the technopark can be located in the whole city, taking into account scientific, technological and economic expediency.

The director of the Yashnabad technopark is equal in status to the deputy minister of economy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the decree said.

President of Uzbekistan recommended that commercial banks provide soft loans for implementation of projects for up to 7 years, with a 2-year grace period. The interest rate on loans should not exceed 50% of set refinancing rate of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan (now the refinancing rate is 9% per annum).

Uzbek leader allowed to take the purchased (created) equipment, as well as the guarantee of the management of the Yashnabad Technopark, as collateral.

Directorate and residents of the industrial park "Yashnabad" received tax and customs privileges.

The Cabinet of Ministers was instructed to approve a list of innovative projects proposed for implementation in the Yashnabad Technopark in 2017-2018.
