“House of Trade” of Namangan Opens in Japan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation of officials and business representatives from Namangan Region, led by the regional hokim and member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Shavkat Abdurazzoqov, is currently visiting Japan.
At the beginning of the visit, the head of the regional delegation met at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Japan with Daiki Kimura, Director for Central Asia at Onodera User Run, a major Japanese company that trains foreign specialists in the Japanese language and professional skills and facilitates their employment in Japanese enterprises. As a result of the discussions, an agreement was reached to soon open a center in Namangan for teaching Japanese to young people.
In addition, Shavkat Abdurazzoqov held meetings with executives of major Yokohama-based companies working in digital medicine, transport infrastructure, and smart city technologies. In particular, ImedTac, a company developing advanced digital medicine solutions, gave a presentation. The parties agreed to launch pilot projects in Namangan Region, enhance professional qualifications, and implement ImedTac technologies in clinical practice.
Following this, Yokohama Urban Solution Alliance and the leading Japanese high-tech manufacturer Murata Manufacturing presented their innovative technological solutions, including modern smart city infrastructure services and products, as well as intelligent systems for analyzing and managing traffic flows.
During the visit, the Namangan delegation held official meetings with Kanagawa Prefecture Governor Yuji Kuroiwa and Yokohama Mayor Takeharu Yamanaka. Discussions focused on expanding economic ties between the regions, implementing smart city solutions, developing industrial cooperation, transport infrastructure, and environmental projects.
A significant portion of the meetings addressed migration issues, including simplifying labor migration to Japan, establishing Japanese language and vocational training centers in Namangan, and organizing professional exchanges between the two countries.
Overall, Namangan entrepreneurs held a series of working meetings and reached several agreements to expand bilateral cooperation. Leading textile companies, including Ideal, Fazman, D.Maretti, Vizzano, and Saodat Sanoat Servis, negotiated with the Japanese company Konaka Co. Ltd on developing collaboration, discussing the supply of finished textile products to the Japanese market, improving quality through East Asian standards, modern logistics and marketing approaches, and creating a joint value chain.
Representatives of Nammotors and Eco Basalt held discussions on energy-saving equipment, modern construction materials, and basalt technologies. As a result, long-term export and partnership agreements worth a total of US$50 million were signed.
The delegation also met with Higashi Chinichi, President of Tokushukai Medical Group, and signed a cooperation agreement in oncology, cardiac surgery, and high-tech medical services. Following talks with Kotaro Tadano, President of Riverfield Inc., an agreement was reached to introduce robotic-assisted surgery and innovative medical equipment in Namangan Region.
One of the most notable official events of the visit was the meeting between Shavkat Abdurazzoqov and Hiroshima Prefecture Governor Hidehiko Yuzaki, during which they discussed expanding economic, investment, educational, tourism, and cultural cooperation between the regions.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the leaders agreed to strengthen relations at the institutional level, establish permanent working groups, and organize regular meetings of entrepreneurs.
