House in Samarkand region partially collapses due to gas flash

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 11 February, at 5:40 am, a gas-air mixture broke out in a private house in Pastdargam district of Samarkand region, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan said.

As a result of the incident, several people were killed and injured. The outbreak of gas led to the collapse of part of the second floor of the house.

The Ministry of Emergencies said that the alleged cause of the accident is a violation of the rules for use of natural gas.

Currently, local authorities are working on eliminating consequences of the disaster.
