Habib Abdullaev appointed as director of Navoi FEZ

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chairman of the Uzbek National Cultural Autonomy of Moscow Habib Abdullayev appointed as the director of the Navoi free economic zone.

Navoi FEZ was established in accordance with the presidential decree signed in December 2008. Its term of operation is 30 years with the possibility of further extension. Navoi FEZ is located on 564 thousand hectares of land.

During this period, there will be a special customs, currency and tax regimes, a simplified procedure for entry, stay and departure, as well as obtaining permits to work by non-resident citizens of Uzbekistan. Tax benefits will be applied with a minimum investment of 3 million euros.

In the FEZ "Navoi" organized 18 enterprises in cooperation with South Korea, Britain, Italy, China, the United Arab Emirates, India, Singapore and Russia. The total investment was US$124 million.

The enterprises produce more than 100 types of products that are sent for export. The proximity of the zone to the logistics center at the Navoi International Airport is an additional convenience for foreign investors.
