Gebrüder Weiss Expands Presence in Uzbekistan Amid Growing Foreign Trade
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As of 1 January 2026, the Tashkent branch of Gebrüder Weiss has gained the status of an independent legal entity, reflecting growing demand for high-quality logistics services in Uzbekistan.
Both international and local companies increasingly require reliable supply chain solutions, particularly in the agricultural machinery sector, where Gebrüder Weiss provides transportation of large-scale equipment and specialized machines across Central Asia.
“We continue to invest in Uzbekistan because we believe in the market’s potential. Our goal is to support clients in accessing Central Asian markets with dependable logistics solutions,” said Thomas Moser, Regional Director for the Black Sea/CIS region at Gebrüder Weiss.
The country’s economic performance supports this outlook: Uzbekistan’s GDP grew by approximately 7% in 2025, and forecasts for 2026–2027 indicate annual growth of around 6%. Rapid industrial, agricultural, and trade development, combined with ongoing reforms and tax incentives, increases the country’s attractiveness for foreign investors, generating additional demand for efficient logistics and transport services.
Uzbekistan is playing an increasingly significant role in trade between Europe and Asia. Alongside Gebrüder Weiss offices in Turkey, Georgia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, and China, the Tashkent office strengthens Eurasian land routes, offering businesses a reliable alternative to air and sea transport, especially for oversized industrial and agricultural cargo.
The new branch is headed by Kamil Ernazarov, who has held a senior position in Tashkent since 2019. “Many companies in Uzbekistan face the challenge of making their supply chains more reliable and internationally competitive. Our expanded service package helps them achieve this,” he noted.
Currently, the Tashkent office has four employees and provides land transport for consolidated and full loads, as well as air, sea, and rail transport. In the coming years, the company plans to expand its services by adding warehousing capabilities, enabling comprehensive service for clients across the country and region.
Gebrüder Weiss Holding AG, headquartered in Lauterach, Austria, offers a full range of international logistics services. The company employs approximately 8,600 staff in 180 of its own locations worldwide. In 2024, the company reported revenue of €2.71 billion.
The company specializes in transport and logistics solutions, digital services, and supply chain management. By combining modern digital technologies with developed physical infrastructure, Gebrüder Weiss is able to respond quickly and flexibly to client needs.
As a family-owned business with more than 500 years of experience in the transport sector, Gebrüder Weiss is recognized today as a leader in sustainable development, implementing comprehensive environmental, economic, and social initiatives.
