French envoy holds talks with Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France in Uzbekistan Jacques-Henry Heuls held a meeting with the Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education of Uzbekistan Alisher Vahobov on 9 April 205 to discuss cooperation in higher education and teaching French language in Uzbek universities.
Embassy of France in Tashkent said that the sides underlined that university cooperation between Uzbekistan and France boosted after visit of the rectors of the Uzbek universities to France in March 2013 and March 2014.
Recently, two agreements on cooperation were signed between the Higher School of Pedagogy and Education at the Academy of Versailles and the Uzbek State World Languages University, as well as between the University of Toulouse 1 and Tashkent State Law University.
The parties also discussed the possibility of organizing a visit of a large delegation of representatives of French universities to Uzbekistan in November 2015 as part of the regional project “Silk Road Universities”, supported by the French Agency for Cooperation in Higher Education “Campus France”.
It was underlined that the French Embassy provides assistance in reforming teaching foreign languages via holding regular seminars, conducted by French specialists.
