French envoy holds meeting with chairperson of Committee on defense and security issues of Legislative Chamber

According to the press service of the French Embassy in Tashkent, the sides considered French-Uzbek relations in all spheres, as well as regional and international issues.

Uzbek MP familiarized the French envoy with the activities of Oliy Majlis, including Legislative Chamber and the committee, which he chairs. He underlined that the relations between two countries are developing dynamically, including between parliaments of two nations. He expressed hope that Uzbek-French relations will develop further in such spheres as food industry, science and technology, culture and education.

In his turn, the French envoy informed the Uzbek MP about upcoming visits, which should help to strengthen inter-parliamentary relations. He said that President of the General Council of Dordogne Department Senator Bernard Cazeau will visit Uzbekistan in the event of April to participation in opening ceremony of Aq-Saray Palace in Shakhrisabz, which was restored recently.

Human Rights Commissioner of Oliy Majlis Sayyora Rashidova will visit France in April on invitation of Defender of Rights Dominique Baudis. There are also plans to organize parliamentarians in autumn.
