The statement of the Embassy said that French Alliance Tashkent was officially registered by the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan.

Soon, the French Alliance Tashkent will be opened in former building of the French Institute in Tashkent.

French Institute in Tashkent was closed on 30 June 2014. It provided French language courses and organized cultural events, as well as distributed information on educational and stipend programmes, contests and activities of the French institutions.

French Alliance Tashkent is founded in line with the inter-governmental agreement, signed by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of France and Uzbekistan on 7 November 2014.

French Alliance in Tashkent will carry out similar functions as French Institute in Uzbekistan and locate in the building of the French Institute. In particular, French Alliance will conduct French language courses for all age groups, representative of the Embassy noted.
