Freight Volume on the Middle Corridor Exceeds 1 Million Tons

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan continues to actively develop multimodal transport routes to increase international and transit cargo flows, diversify foreign trade corridors, and create new logistics pathways through the country, according to the Ministry of Transport.

During the reporting period, freight volume along the Middle Corridor rose from 500,000 tons in 2020 to over 1 million tons in 2025.

Significant growth was also recorded on the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan route, where cargo volumes increased from 33,700 tons to 1.8 million tons.

To enhance the country’s transit potential, construction of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway is ongoing.

For the Trans-Afghan Railway project, key organizational issues have been resolved, and work is underway on the feasibility study.

In the international road transport sector, an E-permit electronic authorization system has been introduced in cooperation with Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan.

Additionally, 24 transport and logistics centers across Uzbekistan have been granted international dry port status, which will improve the efficiency of foreign trade operations and expand the country’s cargo transit capabilities.
