Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan and Iran discussed bilateral relations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 10 February 2018, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran Muhammad Javad Zarif held a meeting in Tehran.

Foreign ministers of Uzbekistan and Iran discussed the state and prospects of bilateral relations in political, trade-economic, transport-communication, investment, cultural, humanitarian and other fields.

The diplomats confirmed mutual interest in strengthening and expanding ties in all spheres of mutual interest between Uzbekistan and Iran, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.

The foreign ministers of Uzbekistan and Iran exchanged views on regional issues. In particular, they discussed situation in Afghanistan, including the agenda of the international conference on Afghanistan "Peace Process, Cooperation in the Sphere of Security and Regional Cooperation" in Tashkent.

The sides also considered issues of cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the UN, the SCO and other international organizations.
