Flights to Tashkent, Ferghana, and Samarkand Diverted Due to Situation over Iran
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Several international flights were forced to alter their routes and return to their departure airports due to the closure of Iranian airspace.
Specifically, Fly One Asia flight 7Q7742 from Medina to Tashkent returned to Medina shortly after takeoff. The same decision was made for flight 7Q4442 on the Medina–Ferghana route, which also returned to Medina.
Jazeera Airways flight J9650 from Tashkent to Kuwait, which departed Tashkent at 02:01 local time, was diverted mid-air and returned to the capital’s airport.
Sam Air flight 9S3303 from Samarkand to Jeddah, departing at 02:04 local time, also returned to Samarkand. Similarly, Fly Khiva flight 2U7911 on the Urgench–Medina route, which took off at 02:17, was forced to return to Urgench.
Additionally, Uzbekistan Airways flight HY336 from Jeddah to Tashkent returned to Jeddah due to the closure of Iranian airspace.
