Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to the Decree of the President “On Additional Measures for Dramatically Improving Legal Education and Science in the Republic of Uzbekistan”, a faculty of international law and comparative law is being created at Tashkent State Law University.
One of the main tasks of the Faculty is the preparation of highly qualified legal personnel based on the study of private international law, as well as a comparative study of domestic and Japanese, German law and legal systems of developed foreign countries.
The main partners of the Faculty were identified from Japan - Nagoya University, from the Federal Republic of Germany - Regensburg University.
Foreign law research centers will function in the structure of the Faculty.
A platform will be created on the basis of the Faculty for organizing joint research, educational and other projects in the field of law with foreign educational institutions and international organizations.
The teaching process at the Faculty will be actively involved in the faculty of foreign higher educational institutions.
According to the Decree, starting from the 2020/2021 academic year:
- citizens of Uzbekistan will be accepted into the magistracy of the Tashkent State Law University through test tests conducted by the State Testing Center, distance learning, distance learning and evening education programs will be introduced for people with basic legal education on the job;
- admission will be carried out without entrance tests on a paid contract basis, outside the admission parameters, leading employees with a basic higher legal education and at least 5 years of experience in the legal field in central government bodies and government, on the basis of the recommendation of the first head of the relevant a state body to a magistracy for studying under the program of distance, distance and evening education on the job;
- the procedure is being introduced for admission to graduate programs at the Tashkent State Law University graduates with honors in law, without entrance examinations on a fee-contract basis, with payment of 50 percent of the cost of training, outside the admission parameters, with an obligation to continue work of at least 3 years in Tashkent State Law University, law faculties, law schools and academic lyceum at Tashkent State Law University after graduation;
Preparatory and other courses, summer and winter schools, including for foreign citizens, will be organized on a paid basis in Tashkent State Law University, legal technical schools and the academic lyceum at Tashkent State Law University.
The rector of the Tashkent State Law University has the right, at the expense of extrabudgetary funds (paid-contractual, including a differentiated paid contract):
- attract foreign specialists as consultants, lecturers and teachers with the establishment of wages and other payments, taking into account the actual situation on the labor market;
- pay for the cost of training and related expenses of prospective graduates of undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate studies at the graduate and postgraduate students of foreign educational and scientific institutions, with the condition that they accept a commitment to work continuously for at least 3 years at the graduate school;
- to allocate scholarships and grants to gifted students of Tashkent State Law University and students of the academic lyceum at Tashkent State Law University.
According to the Decree, starting from the 2020/2021 academic year in legal schools:
- the educational process is organized using a credit-modular system with a reduction in the number of non-core disciplines;
- reception of citizens of Uzbekistan is carried out through test tests conducted by the State Testing Center with the introduction of additional admission procedures for a differentiated paid contract;
- diplomas of a standard form of foreign educational institutions (bachelor’s, master’s degrees) issued to persons who continued their studies after completing joint educational programs and joint faculties of legal technical schools and academic lyceum at TSLU are recognized as a document on higher education in Uzbekistan without additional administrative procedures;
- pedagogical and managerial workers who have worked for at least 3 years in legal technical schools, having a basic higher legal education, have the right to enter the magistracy of TSLU without entrance examinations on a paid contract basis, outside of the admission parameters, with an obligation to work continuously for at least 3 years in bodies and institutions of justice, first of all, in legal technical schools, after graduation according to distribution;
- Also, starting from the 2020/2021 academic year, the academic lyceum attached to the Tashkent State Law University introduces the procedure for additional admission on a paid-contract basis, including a differentiated paid contract, with the independent determination of the Ukrainian State Law University the order and parameters of admission, as well as the cost of tuition.
- Starting from the 2021/2022 academic year, graduates of the academic lyceum at TSLU who have high academic performance in all subjects are entitled to enter TSLU without entrance tests by way of an individual interview on a paid contract basis outside of the admission parameters.
