Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to the State Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan in January-August 2020, the volume of exports of fruits and vegetables amounted to 979.8 thousand tonnes and in value terms exceeded US$595.6 million (the rate of decline compared to the same period in 2019 years accounted for 31.5%). This is reported by the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics.

About 558,800 tonnes of vegetables were exported in the amount of US$235.1 million, as well as 257,900 tonnes of fruits and berries for US$249.1 million 34.4% and 18.6%).

The share of fruits and vegetables in total exports was 5.1%, EastFruit reports.

The largest volume in value terms of exports of fruit and vegetable products traditionally falls on Kazakhstan (29.3% of the total volume of fruit and vegetable products), the Russian Federation (28.4%), Kyrgyzstan (18.7%).

The export of fruits and vegetables to such countries as: Kazakhstan - by 11.4%, Afghanistan - by 25.2%, Azerbaijan - by 29.3%, China - by 42.9%, Pakistan - by 53.2%, Kyrgyzstan - by 58.4%, Ukraine - by 67.6%, Turkey - by 86.1%.

At the same time, there was a significant increase in the export of fruits and vegetables to countries such as Russia - by 57.7%, the United States - by 47.1% and Georgia - by 19.2%.
