Experts discuss draft law on mediation

Representatives of state bodies, responsible for settlement of issues of developing extrajudicial settlement of business disputes, scholars, lawyers and others attended the session of the Council.

The draft law “On mediation” was developed by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and determined main notions, goals, tasks and mechanism of extrajudicial settlement of civil and economic disputes.

The draft law was developed to create legal conditions for mediation in Uzbekistan, assist to develop partnership relations and form business ethics, etc.

The document regulates relations on use of mediation procedures in disputes in business and economic activities, as well as labour and family relations.

It was noted that pre-trial, extrajudicial and judicial mediation should be used in Uzbekistan to settle disputes.
