Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - At the end of November this year, the EU-funded project "Restoring Sustainable Development of Atlas and Silk in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan" (RUTSIS) will be launched, Dunyo news agency reports citing the press service of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Uzbekistan.

The project aims to promote sustainable growth in silk and satin production in Central Asia through sustainable consumption and production practices, as well as entering international markets.

The project covers enterprises in the silk and satin sector located in the Fergana, Bukhara Andijan and Tashkent regions. The project budget is 2 million euros.

On 29-30 October, a consultative meeting was held at the CCI to discuss the organizational aspects of the event to launch the project. It is expected that the event will be attended by the leaders and members of the consortium, which includes organizations, universities and consulting companies from Germany, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
