Envoy: Number of potential settlers to Russia in 2015 makes up 20,000 people

Embassy of Russia received over 8,200 applications from compatriots on participation in the state programme on rendering assistance to voluntary re-settlement to the Russian Federation, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Uzbekistan Vladimir Tyurdenov said on 25 December 2015.
He said that number of potential settlers, including their members of family, makes up about 20,000 people.
The Russian envoy said that some 59 regions of Russia are participating in the programme, of which five jointed the programme in 2015.
He noted that Kaluga, Lipetsk, Voronej, Tula and Kaliningrad regions were the most attractive places for settlers from Uzbekistan in 2015.
Tyurdenev underlined that Russia is not agitating and gave big promises. The re-settlement is voluntary. He also called people not to believe various rumors and not use service of various mediators. He said people should use official sources of information – website of Russian Migration Service and Embassy of Russia in Uzbekistan.
