Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to preliminary data, in January-November 2020, enterprises of Uzbekistan produced industrial products worth 322.3 trillion soums, the index of physical volume of industrial production by the same period of 2019 made up 100.1%. In the structure of production, the largest share falls on manufacturing enterprises (83.1%), the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
The main factors behind the decline in the physical volume of industrial production were its decrease in mining and quarrying enterprises - by 22.5%, in water supply, sewerage, waste collection and disposal - by 6.2%. At the same time, there is an increase in the volume of production in the processing industry by 6.3%, at the enterprises of power supply, gas, steam and air conditioning - by 12.9%.
The volume of products produced by mining and quarrying enterprises in January-November 2020 amounted to 28.4 trillion soums, or 8.8% of the total industry.
Manufacturing enterprises in January-November 2020 produced goods worth 267.8 trillion soums, or 83.1% of the total industry.
In the structure of the manufacturing industry, the share of high-tech industries made up 1.9% (1.5% in January-November 2019), medium-high-tech - 23.1% (26.1%), medium-low-tech - 40.5% (36.6%) and low-tech - 34.5% (35.8%).
In the manufacturing industry, the share of enterprises for the production, repair, assembly of machinery and equipment, the production of cars, trailers, semi-trailers and other finished products amounted to 19.6% (the volume index reached 5.7% by January-November 2019), the metallurgical industry - 26.5% (+6.3%), enterprises for the production of textile, clothing and leather products - 15.1% (+10.4%), for the production of food, beverages and tobacco products - 16.6% (+6.5%), enterprises for the production of chemical products, rubber and plastic products - 9.4% (+6.5%).
In January-November 2020, the republic produced 919,000 tons of motor gasoline (compared with the corresponding period of 2019, a decrease of 0.8%), 407,100 tons of cotton yarn, an increase of (9.1%), 1.68 million tons of soft wheat and spelled flour (13.5%) and 226.6 million liters of beer (13.0%).
In January-November 2020, 3 726 trucks were produced in the republic (by the corresponding period of 2019, the volume of production decreased by 26.3%). In 2020, the largest volume of production of these products was noted in November, amounting to 420 units.
In January-November 2020, 588 buses were produced in the republic (by the corresponding period of 2019, a decrease in production by 61.1% was noted). The largest production volume in 2020 was recorded in March, amounting to 176 units.
In January-November 2020, the republic produced 210,400 t units of automobile engines (an increase of 12.9% over the corresponding period of 2019). In 2020, the largest volume of production of these products was noted in July, amounting to 24,100 units.
In January-November 2020, 636 tractors were produced in the republic (by January-November 2019, the volume of production decreased by 50.4%). The largest volume of tractor production was recorded in April 2020, amounting to 234 units.
In January-November 2020, 573 pieces of rippers and cultivators were produced in the republic (by the corresponding period of 2019, a decrease in production by 68.8% was recorded). In April 2020, the largest production volume of these products was noted, amounting to 144 units.
Compared to the same period in 2019, the manufacturing industry increased the production of passenger cars by 1.0 times, automobile engines - by 1.1 times, radiators, silencers and exhaust pipes, clutches, steering wheels, steering columns, steering housing mechanisms and their parts - 1.1 times.
In the automotive industry in January-November 2020, 73 871 “Cobalt” vehicles were produced (growth rates compared to the same period in 2019 amounted to 142.3%), 62 302 – “Nexia” (88.7%), 45 835 – “Gentra” (113.5%), 48 284 – “Damas” (100.7%), 22 458 – “Spark” (98.6%) and 8,112 – “Labo” (121.6%).
The overhaul of technological equipment made it possible to increase the capacity utilization of chemical enterprises and exceed the production indicators of the previous year for ammonium sulfate (+13.4% compared to January-November 2019), potassium chloride (+3.7%) and caustic soda (4.2 times). At the same time, there is a decrease in the production of methyl alcohol (50.8% compared to January-November 2019), paints and varnishes based on acrylic or vinyl polymers (-2.5%).
If in January-November 2019 the share of the metallurgical industry in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 22.4%, and the physical volume index increased by 5.6%, then in January-November 2020 the share of the industry in the manufacturing industry was 26.5%. the index of physical volume by the corresponding period of 2020 increased by 6.3%, while the volume of production made up 70.94 trillion soums.
In January-November 2019, the share of production of other non-metallic mineral products in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 5.3%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period in 2018, increased by 15.2%. In January-November 2020, the share of other non-metallic mineral products amounted to 5.6%, the index of physical production increased by 8.3%, and the volume of production reached 15.04 trillion soums.
If in January-November 2019 the share of food production in the manufacturing industry amounted to 13.9%, and the physical volume index, in relation to the previous year, reached 5.7%, then in January-November 2020 the share of food amounted to 13.6%, the index of the physical volume, in relation to the same period in 2020, increased by 7.7%, the total production volume amounted to 36 344.3 billion soums.
At the end of January-November 2019, the share of beverage production in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 2.5%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period of the previous year, increased by 12.4%. In January-November 2020, the share of beverage production amounted to 2.4%, the physical volume index increased by 3.3%, and the production volume amounted to 6.38 trillion soums.
At the end of January-November 2019, the share of textile production in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 11.0%, while the physical volume index increased by 4.5% compared to the same period of the previous year. In January-November 2020, the share of textile production amounted to 11.3%, the index of the physical volume of their production increased by 14.4%, and the production volume made up 30.34 trillion soums.
If in January-November 2019 the share of clothing production in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 3.5%, and the physical volume index increased by 4.5%, then in January-November 2020 the share of the industry in the manufacturing industry was 3.3%, the index of physical volume by the corresponding period of 2020 increased by 2.9%, while the volume of production amounted to 8.77 trillion soums.
In January-November 2019, the share of chemical production in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 7.6%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period in 2018, increased by 1.3%. In January-November 2020, the share of chemical products amounted to 7.2%, the index of physical volume of production increased by 6.8%, and the volume of production amounted to 19.3 trillion soums.
At the end of January-November 2019, the share of coke and product production in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 3.9%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period of the previous year, decreased by 10.5%. In January-November 2020, the share of coke and product production amounted to 3.6%, the physical volume index also increased by 0.9%, and the production volume amounted to 9.75 trillion soums.
According to the results of January-November 2019, the share of production of vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 13.6%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period of the previous year, increased by 39.7%. In January-November 2020, the share of production of vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers amounted to 11.6%, the physical volume index also decreased by 1.8%, and the production volume amounted to 31,02 trillion soums.
At the end of January-November 2019, the share of production of rubber and plastic products in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 2.3%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period in 2018, increased by 7.9%. In January-November 2020, the share of rubber and plastic products also amounted to 2.2%, the physical volume index increased by 5.2%, and the production volume amounted to 5.80 trillion soums.
The volume of products produced by the enterprises of electricity supply, gas supply, steam and air conditioning amounted to 24.2 trillion soums (7.5% of the total industry). The index of the physical volume of the industry, compared to the corresponding period of 2019, increased by 12.9%.
The volume of products produced by enterprises of water supply, sewerage, waste collection and disposal amounted to 1.9 trillion soums (0.6% of the total industry).
Compared to the corresponding period of 2019, there was an increase in services for the emptying, cleaning and treatment of cesspools, sedimentation tanks and septic tanks by 47.1% and services for the removal, transportation of wastewater and their treatment by 2.5%. At the same time, a decrease in the volume and production of textile waste was recorded - by 14.2%.
As a result of measures taken to expand the range and stimulate the production of finished products, the production of consumer goods amounted to 107.1 trillion soums and, compared to the corresponding period of 2019, increased by 1.9%, the share in the total industry was 33.2%.
In the structure of food production, the production of wine and vodka and beer amounted to 7.0% (7.4% in January-November 2019). In the structure of consumer goods production in the republic, the largest share falls on the Andijan region (22.5% of the total volume of consumer goods), Tashkent city (18.3%), Tashkent (11.2%), Samarkand (9.7%) and Ferghana (6.6%) regions. The largest growth in the production of consumer goods was recorded in Samarkand (+10.1% compared to the corresponding period of 2019), Bukhara (+9.6%), Tashkent (+9.5%) regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (+7.5%), exceeding the average in the republic (+1.9%).
In the structure of production of non-food products of the republic, the largest share falls on the Andijan region (32.0% of the total volume of non-food products), Tashkent city (16.6%), Samarkand (9.2%), Tashkent (8.1%) and Khorezm (6.1%) regions. The largest growth in the production of non-food products was recorded in Bukhara (+9.7% compared to the corresponding period of 2019), Samarkand (+8.5%), Jizzakh (+8.4%) and Namangan (+8.3%) regions.
In the structure of food production in the republic, the largest share falls on the city of Tashkent (21.2% of the total volume of food products), Tashkent (16.7%) and Samarkand (10.6%) regions. At the same time, the largest growth in food production was recorded in Samarkand (+12.7%), Namangan (+11.2%) and Tashkent (+11.7%) regions.
During the reporting period, enterprises with foreign investment produced goods worth 72.1 trillion soums, the share of which in the total production volume was 22.4%.
The change in industrial production was significantly influenced by a decrease in the index of physical volume of industrial production in Kashkadarya (-0.3% compared to January-November 2019), the region and Tashkent city (-0.3%).
At the same time, there is a significant increase in the index of the physical volume of industrial production in Namangan (+17.0% against January-November 2019), Surkhandarya (+11.4%), Navoi (+8.8%), Jizzakh (+7.5%), Khorezm (+4.3%) regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (+3.3%).
In the structure of industrial output of the republic, the largest share falls on enterprises in the city of Tashkent (17.7% of the republican volume of industry), Navoi (18.3%), Tashkent (18.1%), Andijan (10.0%) and Ferghana (5.6%) regions. The smallest share of industrial production was recorded at the enterprises of Surkhandarya (1.4%) and Jizzakh (1.6%) regions.
Analysis of the differentiation of industrial output per capita showed an excess of the national average (9.44 million soums) in Navoi (58.85 million soums), Tashkent (19.67 million soums), Andijan (10.21 million soums) regions and Tashkent city (21.79 million soums). Production of consumer goods per capita in the reporting period in the republic made up 3.13 million soums, including in Tashkent city – 7.48 million soums, Andijan region – 7.66 million soums, Tashkent region – 4.04 million soums, Navoi region – 3.42 million soums.
During the reporting period, small businesses produced goods worth 83.4 trillion soums, the share of which in the total production volume was 25.9%. In terms of regions, the largest share of small business was observed in Jizzakh region (62.8% of the total industry in the region), Namangan (49.9%), Samarkand (44.8%), Surkhandarya (43.2%), Ferghana (41.3%) regions.
At the same time, the smallest share of small business was noted in Navoi (6.4%), Andijan (18.6%) and Tashkent (20.3%) regions, as well as in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (22.6%). Analysis of the structure of industrial production in the context of the regions of the republic showed that the low share of production of small businesses in the total volume of industry is explained by the significant volume of production of large industrial enterprises located in these regions.
Today, 82,700 industrial enterprises operate in the republic, of which 15,700 (19.0% of the total number of operating enterprises) are in the city of Tashkent, 8,900 (10.8%) are in Ferghana, 8,600 (10.5%) - Tashkent, 8,400 (10.2%) - Andijan, 6,900 (8.4%) - Samarkand and 6,500 (7, 9%) - Namangan regions.
In January-November 2020, 17 394 industrial enterprises were newly created in the republic, of which 2,376 (13.7% of the total number of newly created) accounted for Andijan, 1,711 (9.8%) - Surkhandarya, 1,672 (9.6%) - Ferghana, 1,476 (8.5%) - Samarkand region and 1,810 (10.4%) - Tashkent city.
To date, the largest number of operating industrial enterprises is located in the cities of Andijan (3 074 units), Namangan (2 577 units), Samarkand (1 593 units), Kokand (1 428 units), as well as in the following districts of the city of Tashkent: Almazar (2 153 units), Chilanzar (1 952 units), Uchtepa (1 892 units), Yunusabad (1 716 units), Shaikhantakhur (1 411 units) and Sergeli (1 397 units).
As of 1 December 2020, the minimum number of operating industrial enterprises is located in the city of Shirin (60 units), Syrdarya region; Dehkanabad region (81 units) of Kashkadarya region; Tamdy district (59 units), Navoi region; Arnasai (80 units) and Yangiabad (66 units) districts of Jizzakh region; Kegeyli (77 units), Kanlykul (74 units), Takhtakupyr (68 units) and Bozatausky (30 units) regions of the Republic of Karakalpakstan; Bandikhan district (48 units), Surkhandarya region.
